Textile Commercial Warranty - European Union

1. Conditions of the warranty

This commercial warranty is offered by HAMELIN SAS, a simplified joint-stock company incorporated in France.

It applies to OXFORD TEXTILE products sold to consumers within the European Union.

This commercial warranty is provided in addition to the consumer’s statutory rights under European Union law and national implementing legislation, without replacing or limiting them, in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/771 relating to certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods.

2. Which products are covered by this warranty?

The warranty applies to the following OXFORD TEXTILE products (non-exhaustive list).
This list may be amended at a later date.

2-year commercial warranty :

  • Sports bags
  • Laptop sleeves

10-year commercial warranty :

  • School bags
  • Backpacks
  • Trolley backpack
  • Tote bags
  • Travel bags
  • Laptop bags
  • Insulated bags

The applicable duration is indicated on the product label.

3. Duration of the commercial warranty

The commercial warranty is valid from the purchase date shown on the proof of purchase, for a period of 2
or 10 years depending on the product concerned.

4. Defects covered by the commercial warranty

Defects covered by the commercial warranty :

  • Manufacturing defects affecting stitching (tears, unstitched seams, zipper seams)
  • Shoulder straps
  • Inner pockets
  • Buckles, fasteners and zipper pulls
  • Snap buttons and elastic components
  • Fabric length defects causing holes along seams

5. Defects excluded from the commercial warranty

Defects excluded from the commercial warranty (not exhausted) :

  • Cuts, burns, holes, stains
  • Normal wear and tear, including wheels and zippers
  • Aesthetic damage
  • Repairs or modifications carried out by the user
  • Damage to the bottom of the bag

    • 6. Conditions of use and exclusions

    The commercial warranty applies only to normal use of the product in accordance with its intended
    purpose.

  • Load exceeding 10 kg
  • Transport of inappropriate items (sharp objects, heat or cold sources, animals, etc.)
  • Prolonged exposure to temperatures below 0°C or above 50°C
  • Contact with abrasive products or surfaces, solvents, acids or liquids
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Intentional damage
  • Damage occurring during transport under inappropriate conditions

    • 7. Implementation of the commercial warranty

    A product is considered unusable when a defect covered by the commercial warranty prevents its normal
    use.

    Implementation of the commercial warranty is subject to:

  • Presentation of proof of purchase
  • Return of the product concerned

    • After analysis, HAMELIN SAS will, at its discretion:

  • either replace the product with an equivalent or higher value product,
  • or refund the purchase price.

    • Return costs relate exclusively to the commercial warranty and do not affect the consumer’s statutory rights.

    8. Claims procedure

    Required documents:

  • Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)
  • Photographs of the defect observed

    Customer service aims to respond within 48 business hours. Processing generally occurs within a maximum of 30 days.

    9. Limitation of liability

    The commercial warranty is limited to the purchase price of the product, within the limits permitted by law.
    This limitation does not apply to statutory warranties.
    Indirect damages or loss of property are not covered.

    10. Statutory consumer rights

    Independently of this commercial warranty, the consumer benefits from statutory conformity rights under
    Directive (EU) 2019/771 and applicable national laws.
    The seller is liable for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery.
    The consumer has, in principle, a minimum period of two years from delivery to exercise these rights free of charge.

    11. Geographical scope and applicable law

    This commercial warranty is valid in all Member States of the European Union.
    It is subject to mandatory European Union consumer protection law and to the national law of the consumer’s country of residence where more protective.

    12. Care and maintenance

    In order to prolong the life of OXFORD TEXTILE products, it is recommended that you:

  • Clean the product regularly with a soft, damp cloth
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
  • Store the product in a dry and cool place when not in use
