Your exams are fast approaching – time to check in with yourself. Are you feeling confident and prepped, or do you still need a few more revision sessions? Do you know your flashcards inside out? Have your course notes really sunk in?
To help you figure it all out, here are 5 signs that show you’re ready to smash your exams!

Sign 1: you know your flashcards off by heart

To do well in an exam, you need to know your stuff. When you’ve locked in all the key knowledge, that’s your green light!
To check if everything’s really sunk in, use your flashcards:
● Grab your course notes and Oxford FLASH 2.0 flashcards
● Write a question on the front and the answer on the back of each card
● Scan your flashcards using the Scribzee app
When you combine flashcards with Scribzee, you can use the Leitner method – a spaced repetition technique that boosts long-term memory by increasing the gaps between each revision session.
With the REVISION mode, you’ll quickly see how well you know your content. When you review a flashcard, swipe right if you know it, left if you don’t. The app will automatically test you more often on the tricky ones.
Aim for a 100% score by the end – then you’ll know you’re ready for the real thing!

Tip 2: you aced your quiz

Another clear sign you’re ready is being able to test yourself – and nail it. Make it fun by creating a quiz, either digitally (with tools like Canva) or by hand.
There are loads of quiz formats to try:
● True/False
● Multiple choice
● Short answer
● Fill-in-the-blank
● Pick-from-a-list
If you go for the paper version, scan your blank quiz with Scribzee so you can reuse it again and again. The bonus? Paper quizzes help you simulate real exam conditions – just a sheet of paper and a pen!
Prefer digital? No problem! Scribzee’s Quiz mode puts you to the test. Questions appear one at a time on-screen, and you answer out loud to activate your auditory memory.
Once your score pops up, you can choose:
● “Improve your score” to revise the flashcards you didn’t quite master
● Or “Restart” to go over all of them again

Sign 3: be can explain the course to somebody else

Want to know if you really understand your lessons? Try explaining them to someone else. It’s the ultimate test!
If you can clearly talk through the material, be understood, and even answer questions about it, it shows you’ve got a deep understanding.
To explain things well, imagine you’re…
● Teaching your topic to a general audience
● Making your ideas clear and simple
● Keeping people interested
It’s a great way to organise your thoughts, make sense of complex ideas, and boost your confidence!
Even better – Scribzee lets you share your notes with friends via email or within the app. That way, they can follow along as you explain and share their notes back with you. Win-win!

Sign 4: You’ve Ticked Off All Your Revision Goals

Being ready also means you’ve ticked off everything on your to-do list. You’ve revised all the topics that’ll be tested – no gaps, no last-minute surprises. On scribzee, the progress statuses allow you On Scribzee, you can use status updates to track your revision progress and make sure you’ve covered everything. No more “I think I missed something…” moments!
Here’s how it works:
● Tag each note with your level of mastery or urgency – use emojis, colours, and labels like:
🟩 Important, not urgent ⏳
🟧 Less important, urgent ⚠️
Then, check your dashboard for a full overview. It shows your progress as percentages and total scores.
For example, if you’ve reviewed half your notes marked “urgent,” you’ll see a 50% score next to that category. Once all your stats hit 100%, you’ll know you’re ready to roll!
Let’s imagine that you have revised half of your sheets classified as ‘Not important, urgent’.

Sign 5: You Can Power Through a Mock Exam Without Hesitating

The final test: a mock exam. One of the best ways to know if you’re ready is to simulate the real thing and mark yourself at the end.
No need to show your ID to your cat, but do take it seriously – especially if you’re preparing for a big exam like the A-levels or GCSEs.
Pick a past paper, and go for it:
● No textbooks, no phone, no computer or smartwatch
● Just a blank sheet, some pens, and your brain
Afterwards, check how well you understood the question and whether you used the right knowledge. Ask a parent or friend to judge the presentation – spelling, layout, neatness.
Then, compare your answer with the official mark scheme or your Scribzee notes to see if you covered the right ideas and examples. If anything’s missing, just head back to Scribzee to revise that topic – or borrow a mate’s notes!
By combining all these methods – and making the most of Scribzee – you’ll know for sure whether you’re exam-ready. Not spotting all five signs yet? Don’t stress – just ask yourself what you can do next, and keep going. You’ve got this! 💪
