How to Sort and Find Important Information with Scribzee
Sort and Find Info Easily
Not exactly best friends with apps? No worries! We’ll guide you step by step to sort your scans and find all the key info from your notes using Scribzee!
You’ve scanned all your notes with Scribzee? Awesome! Now it’s time to learn how to organise them and find what you need. Not really a tech expert? Don’t worry — this article walks you through how to sort your scans and find key info from your classes, quickly and easily. 💫
Step 1: Find Your Scans in Scribzee
Once you’ve scanned your handwritten notes using the printed markers, head over to Scribzee to find them. In the app, the phrase “a place for everything and everything in its place” really comes to life.
If you’ve enabled automatic filing (under “Account Preferences” > “Automatic Filing”), your scanned notes will automatically appear in a folder at the top of your folder list.
👉 Here’s how the app sorts your scans by default:
- Flashcards, notebook pages, loose-leaf sheets, and index cards are sorted by coloured folders (green, blue, red, etc.);
- Memos are filed in the “Memos” folder;
- Diary pages appear in the Calendar and “Diary Pages” section.
💡 Can’t find a specific scan? Just check the app’s notification centre. It’ll tell you exactly where that precious scan is hiding! 🏆
At any time, you can choose to organise your scans manually by turning off the automatic filing option. Just go to “Account Preferences” and uncheck your scans under “Automatic Filing.” After scanning, you’ll be able to choose exactly which folder you want each scan to go in.
To stay organised, make sure your new scans are properly named and sorted. A good tip is to name them by subject and match your colour code with your notebooks — like red for maths, blue for literature, green for biology, etc.
💡 Bonus tip: With Scribzee, there’s no need to worry about losing your data. The app syncs your scans regularly to the cloud, so you can access your notes from any device. And the best part? You get 1.5 GB of cloud storage — that’s around 3,000 scans! 🤩
Step 2: Create Folders and Subfolders
Once you know where your notes are, it’s time to move on to organising them into folders. This will make your future searches much easier and keep your setup rock solid.
For example, you could create main folders by subject, then divide them into subfolders by theme or chapter.
👉 You could also organise your notes by type — like “Class Notes,” “Revision Cards,” “Exercises,” or “Answer Sheets.” Here’s an example :
🗂️ Theme 4: Literary Culture → Main folder
The Monster Figure → subfolder
Adventure Stories → subfolder
Creation Stories, Poetic Creation → subfolder
Outsmarting the Strong: Tricks, Lies and Masks → subfolder
🗂️ Theme 5: Studying Texts and Images → Main folder
Different Types of Texts → subfolder
Author, Narrator, and Characters → subfolder
Literary Devices → subfolder
Literary Genres → subfolder
Literary Registers → subfolder
Image Analysis → subfolder
So, how do you create a new folder in Scribzee? It’s super simple! From the home screen, select a scan category using the “All” filter. Then click the “Folder” icon. To create a subfolder, go into the main folder and tap “Add a Folder.” 😉
💡 Oops… Put a scan in the wrong place ? No problem! Just tap “More Options” (the three dots at the top right), then “Move.” Select the scans you want, and tap “Move Here.”
Step 3: Search for Information
Now that your scans are all neatly organised, let’s see how to find specific info in just a few taps!
From the main screen, just enter a keyword from your scan — like “cell,” “archaeology,” or “Paris” — into the search bar.
👉 Use specific keywords to get better results (Scribzee can find almost anything, even if you made a few spelling mistakes). That said, try to avoid major spelling disasters like “archeology.” 😅
When you start a search, Scribzee scans the handwritten text in your notes. If it finds matches, they’ll show up instantly. Each result is colour-coded to show how relevant it is, and your keyword will be highlighted so you can spot it right away.
💡 Just so you know, handwritten search works with scans that were added at least 24 hours ago. If there’s no match in the handwritten text, the app will search through the scan titles instead. Then, just tap a result to view your note.
Conclusion
Now you know how to organise your scans and quickly find key information from your classes. With Scribzee, you don’t need to dig through piles of paper or worry about losing important notes. Everything’s neatly stored and just a tap away, helping you stay focused and succeed in your studies! 🎓
